May you make beautiful flowers in Heaven
Due to age and health problems David and Val Jean Hansen moved into an assisted living facility early Spring 2022. They sold their home and closed the garden.
Mary and I were able to move a good sized group of selected seedlings Dave had selected to our garden. Hopefully as these seedlings bloom, we can select some to introduce in memory of Dave.
Not only was Dave a great friend, he was a wonderful ambassador for Daylilies. He donated plants to Nebraska Daylily Society and Region One for years. Dave also enjoyed giving seeds and sharing information with young hybridizers. I have had more than one young hybridizer tell me how much they owed Dave for helping them to get started hybridizing. Dave loved showing visitors his garden and sharing his passion to hybridize the perfect red daylily. With lots of teeth of course.
This will be the last year we will have a separate Hansen page on our website. All of the David and Val Jean Hansen introductions we grow will be listed in our general listing. The newer arrivals to our garden as well as the plants that are limited inventory are listed as “DISPLAY”.
We are very pleased to grow and list for sale several of introductions of our good friends Val Jean and David Hansen.
If you like toothy edges then the Hansen intros will surely excite you. Teeth ranging in colors of gold and white plus combination of the two. We will be offering more Hansen varieties as the increase for us.
Check back periodically to see if a favorite is available yet.

Keast Daylily introductions are grown in our zone 4/5 garden in southwest Iowa. The winters can be harsh. Some years lots of snow, some years no snow and some years layers of ice. These introductions have grown in these conditions and have done quite well. We want our introductions to do as well in our customer's garden as they did in ours.
