Welcome to Keast Daylily Gardens

Our garden is located in Oakland a small rural town is Southwest Iowa near Shenandoah where the AHS began. We are a small state inspected daylily nursery with somewhat limited numbers of any given daylily. Garden bloom usually starts late June and runs through late July. We have collected several bloom season extending cultivars with extra early varieties, plus late and extra late varieties. Depending on the year we can have good rebloom. We grow a mixture of varieties ranging from early 1950’s to current introductions. We try to add to our inventory new plants each year.

Mary and I started growing daylilies over 20 years ago. Daylilies seem to love the deep soil here in our Iowa garden and have prospered. We presently grow over 1000 registered varieties of daylilies plus our seedlings. Our interest in daylilies includes all forms from miniatures, doubles, large flower, unusual forms and spiders.

Depending on the weather we can usually start digging and shipping plants in late April through May, then again August through early September. Let us know if you need your order shipped outside of these dates and we will try to work with you. We try to ship only plants we would like to receive.

Mary and I belong to the Nebraska Daylily Society as well as the AHS. We are also very proud to have our garden listed as an AHS Display Garden in Region One.

We are proud to list the introductions of our deceased friend David Hansen from Papillion, NE. Between the high demand and moving new plants into our garden several of their daylilies are listed as DISPLAY (held for increase). Most of the Hansen introductions have great toothy edges. White, gold and yellow teeth, some even have two or more color combinations of colored teeth.
